MISSION STATEMENT

Our Aim is to provide a Singing Eisteddfod that will foster young talent from all over Sydney and beyond.
The Sydney Popular Singing Challenge will encourage participants to build upon their performance skills through constructive feedback from highly qualified music specialists, in a positive and supportive environment.

As Music Teachers, we realised there currently exist very few opportunities for Singing Students to enhance their performance skills.
Currently, most Eisteddfods focus on many areas of Performing Arts and competitions are often held infrequently.

Having a passion for encouraging and developing students talents, we devised an Eisteddfod with Popular Music as its focus, with the use of higly qualified judges and quality venues. In this way, we aim to assist Singers in developing self confidence and performance skills. We also wish to encourage older students to participate and use this Eisteddfod as practice for their prepared pieces for the Higher School Certificate.

In the near future, we hope to develop The Sydney Popular Singing Challenge into one of the more prestigious events on the Performing Arts Calendar.
